Bio
Hello, my name is Wade Sonenberg, and I’m a twenty something web programmer and commercial real estate agent living just North of Atlanta, GA. I began designing websites for our family’s real estate firm back in 2002, and it has evolved into what we now like to call Rainmaker Web Design.
Web
My main interest in web design is the marketing aspect for businesses, hence my attention to SEO. I develop sites with MySQL, PHP, CSS, and XHTML, with a smidge of javascript thrown in when necessary. Lastly, I’m fascinated with Google maps. I’m certainly not a guru, but you can check out a couple of my projects here:
- GeorgiaLandSold.com
Searchable map of 5+ acre parcels sold in over 25 North Georgia counties. - Georgia DoT Traffic Counts
Mashup of Georgia Dept. of Transportation’s average annual daily traffic counts, which are a determining factor in retail locations such as Starbucks or Target. *other features on AcreForum.com are forthcoming. - PostMapper.com
PostMapper is a new social bookmarking service done geographically. Think “Social Bookmarking + Google Maps = PostMapper.” The service is in Beta as of 11/01/08, and updates about it will be posted on my blog.
Real Estate
I grew up around real estate, and heard terms like cap rates and 1031 exchanges an early age. I specialize in office leasing and sales, as well as commercial land. I’ve qualified for the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors’ Million Dollar Club multiple times, but I still enjoy the freedom (and less stress) of web development.
Outside
I try to get out when ever possible, and I simply love to travel. I’ve had a passion for getting outside and seeing new places since I was a little squirt as my grandpa called me. I started bass fishing at age eight in a pond near my parent’s house (at age ten I caught a nine pound hog that’s still my best bass), and never lost that wonder lust as the suburbs grew in around me. I’ve spent two working vacations in Colorado and many summers in the Florida Keys. In between, I’ve taken up fly-fishing, hiking, bouldering, shooting, boating, white-water kayaking, skiing, and now… writing, I suppose. Youi can check out my outdoors blog The Great Outsmores if you like. I even got married at a ski resort (skied on my wedding day ), but I’m now toiling in a land of strip malls and traffic lights. That said, I still escape whenever I can.
